A Shreveport Tradition That Shines

What began “around a card table” more than seventy years ago has blossomed into one of Shreveport’s most beloved annual traditions. The Loyola College Prep Style Show started in 1952 as a small fundraiser organized by the Jesuit Mothers’ Club. Today, it stands as a signature community event that celebrates every Loyola senior while uniting families, alumni, and friends across generations.

Each fall, the Style Show transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, bringing together fashion, creativity, and school spirit in a dazzling production that honors the senior class. The event is planned and executed by the Loyola Parents’ Association, whose tireless dedication has kept the tradition alive and thriving for more than seven decades.

“It’s more than a fashion show—it’s a celebration of our students, our families, and the Loyola legacy.”

Every senior at Loyola is invited to take part, and the show’s organizers ensure that each one has a moment to shine. The event is carefully choreographed to highlight the seniors’ personalities, friendships, and unique style. For many, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step into the spotlight—sometimes quite literally. Year after year, parents share stories of the quiet student who surprises everyone with newfound confidence on stage. That transformation, born from weeks of practice and encouragement, captures the spirit of Loyola’s commitment to developing the whole person.

This year’s theme, “Candyland,” promises a vibrant mix of nostalgia and modern flair. Set against a backdrop inspired by the beloved childhood game, the 2026 senior class will showcase colorful, fashion-forward looks in a whimsical celebration of youth, friendship, and sweet memories. The music, staging, and production are all crafted to bring that playful world to life—complete with Loyola’s iconic mascot, Snoopy, whose presence adds an element of fun to every show.

“Each year’s theme reflects the energy of our seniors and the creativity of our parent chairs.”

While the Style Show has evolved over the years—incorporating high-tech screens, professional video production, and contemporary design—it remains deeply rooted in tradition. Beloved elements such as the Senior Walk and Alumni Walk continue to honor the school’s history and the generations who have walked the same stage. It’s not uncommon to see former Loyola graduates returning as sponsors, vendors, or even as proud parents cheering on their children.

“The legacy continues—parents who once modeled as seniors now watch their own kids shine on stage.”

Beyond the glitz and glamour, the Style Show serves an important purpose. Proceeds from the event directly benefit Loyola College Prep, funding key projects, supporting faculty, and enriching the overall student experience. The funds raised help ensure that Loyola continues to provide an exceptional education grounded in faith, service, and community.

In a city that values both tradition and innovation, the Loyola Style Show stands as a shining example of both

It’s an event that brings people together—past, present, and future—celebrating the heart of what makes Loyola College Prep so special.

“The Style Show has endured because it’s built on love—love for our students, our school, and our community.”
