Can you hear the holiday jingle in your head too? Can you also hear the record scratch when reality sinks in? Y’all, I’m gonna be so real with you right now—I’m tired. Even as I write this, weeks ahead of the holiday hustle and bustle, I feel it. Is it just me, or is the holiday season longer and more jam-packed than it used to be?
Recently, we’ve spent time with several small business owner friends, and I genuinely don’t know how they do it. Managing households, corralling kiddos, participating in every school, church, and extracurricular activity under the sun, and somehow still operating storefronts, conducting business, and showing up for every commitment there ever was—land almighty, it’s a lot!
’Tis the season for all things joy, gratitude, thanks, and giving, but for the love—we are wearing ourselves so thin! (Whew! Deep breath…)
I am thankful for this season. Truly, I am. What a blessing it is to gather with family and friends and celebrate all that we’re grateful for—and the greatest gift of all. Personally, I don’t want the busyness to take away from the blessing.
So here’s how I’m committing my time and energy this holiday season—intentionally. I’m showing up for friends and family who need a helping hand. I’m choosing quality over quantity when it comes to gifting. I’m carving out quiet time each week to rest and reflect on the many wonderful things this year has brought me and my family.
I realize this might sound like a luxury—the ability to command a schedule and be intentional with time. Maybe it is just wishful thinking, but I’m going to do my best to honor this intention. Would you like to join me in this journey over the last few weeks of 2025?
As we step into the holiday season, I hope you give yourself permission to rest when you need it. I hope you find joy in the small things. I hope you choose memories over messes made. I hope you embrace what truly makes this the most wonderful time of the year—and I hope you’ll share it with us.
With love and light,
-Your Sister Friend Sarah
