Glow Alchemy Kitchen: From Vision to Evolution

Lola MagazineHealth and Beauty

Glow Alchemy Kitchen has always been more than a café—it’s been a sanctuary where beauty, wellness, and nourishment come together. For founder Jessica Comegys, Glow was born from her passion for food as both joy and healing. “As a chef and health coach, I dreamed of a place where wellness and style met,” Jessica reflects. “Every detail was intentional, from the rose quartz chandelier to the neon pink ‘hello luminous you’ sign modeled after my grandmother’s handwriting.

Glow was meant to be an exhale—a place where eating well felt effortless, joyful, and beautiful. – Jessica Comegys

Over a decade, Glow became a community landmark. Guests found gluten-free, health-forward food that didn’t skimp on flavor, and many found comfort in a safe space where food sensitivities and healing journeys were welcomed. “The most rewarding moments,” Jessica shares, “were watching someone with a restricted diet light up because they could finally order freely, or seeing friends linger over wine and hummus long after lunch service ended.” Glow weathered even the challenges of the pandemic, pivoting to meal prep and curbside pickup while deepening its role in people’s lives. But for Jessica, there came a moment when she felt the gentle nudge to begin a new chapter.

Letting go wasn’t about loss—it was about creating space for the next dream. – Jessica Comegys

That next dream came in the form of Dr. Britni Sternard, a local physician whose life and work reflect a deep commitment to wellness. “Glow is a natural extension of my medical work,” says Britni, who is board-certified in both Emergency and Lifestyle Medicine. “It’s a place where people can enjoy beautiful, nourishing meals while also being inspired to make healthier choices that ripple into every part of their lives.”

Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated or restrictive. It can be beautiful, delicious, and joyful. – Dr. Britni Sternard

Britni is determined to preserve the heart of Glow while bringing fresh energy and vision. She is expanding offerings with meal plans, chef’s tables, and cooking classes, as well as wellness workshops designed to empower the community with tools for everyday health. “Wellness doesn’t have to be complicated or restrictive,” Britni emphasizes. “It can be beautiful, delicious, and joyful.” For Jessica, knowing the café is in Britni’s hands brings peace. “Britni  shares the same respect for what Glow represents,” she says. “I’m excited to see Glow continue as a hub for connection and wellness under her leadership.”

Looking ahead, Britni hopes Glow will be recognized as more than a café. “In five years, I envision Glow as a gathering place for wellness, education, and connection in Shreveport-Bossier and beyond.” As Glow turns this page, one thing remains constant: its mission to nourish both body and spirit while strengthening the bonds of community.

The Next Adventure

While Glow enters its new season under Britni’s care, Jessica is stepping into her own exciting chapter. Through The Balanced Boarding Pass, she is blending her passions for food, wellness, and curated travel into lifestyle experiences designed to inspire balance and joy.

“Glow gave me the foundation to dream even bigger,” Jessica says. “Now, I’m ready to create spaces that combine wellness and adventure, while also spending more time with my family.”
