I never imagined that pageantry would become part of my story. Growing up, pageants were never something I dreamed about or even paid much attention to. Sports, leadership, community, and challenging myself were always far more interesting to me. But one thing I have always believed is that growth happens when you are willing to step outside of your comfort zone. I was blessed to have a coach who constantly reminded me never to be good at just one thing if God has given me many gifts. Those words changed the way I approached opportunities, and eventually, they led me to a pageant stage.
My first real opportunity came in 2024 when I competed for Miss University of Louisiana Monroe. I did not enter because I wanted a crown or sash. I entered because I saw an opportunity to expand my circle of influence and connect with people across my university community. I wanted to bridge gaps, build relationships, and represent something bigger than myself. What I found during that experience was so much more meaningful than I ever expected. Representing my university and every person connected to it gave me an overwhelming sense of purpose and excitement. The support I received from the students, faculty, and community inspired me to continue competing and growing within the organization.

Being crowned Miss Louisiana has truly been one of the greatest honors of my life. From the very beginning, one of my biggest goals was to challenge the narrative of what people sometimes believe Miss Louisiana should look or act like. I wanted to show young girls and people across our state that authenticity matters. I wanted to be intentional in everything I said and did, and I wanted people to feel like they were meeting the real me every single time. Whether I was speaking to students, attending events, or representing our state on a national stage, I hoped people could see my heart behind every moment.
Because sports have always played such an important role in my life, creating my initiative “Head in the Game” felt incredibly natural. Growing up around athletics and pursuing a future career in sports taught me discipline, confidence, teamwork, and resilience. I wanted to encourage young people to experience those same benefits for themselves. Through “Head in the Game,” I have had the privilege of connecting with countless children, students, and families while encouraging youth to stay physically active and try new sports. Physical activity is important not only for health, but also for personal growth. Sports teach lessons that extend far beyond the field or court. They teach leadership, perseverance, responsibility, and how to overcome adversity.

Serving as the official spokesperson for the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my year as Miss Louisiana. Traveling across parishes and attending fitness preliminary meets and the official state championship allowed me to witness firsthand the incredible dedication and determination of Louisiana’s youth. Watching these students showcase their strength, speed, discipline, and confidence was inspiring. Even more inspiring was seeing entire communities rally around their young people and prioritize their physical and mental well-being. Those moments reminded me why this work matters so deeply.
One of the most unforgettable experiences of my life was competing at Miss America. Standing on that stage while representing Louisiana was both humbling and surreal. Meeting women from all across the country and witnessing their talents, intelligence, and passion was truly inspiring. Throughout the entire experience, I carried Louisiana with me in everything I did. I wanted to represent our state with pride, authenticity, and excellence.
One of the most exciting and unexpected moments came during production rehearsals. After auditions for placement in the production numbers, I was selected to be in the front. Since vocal performance is my talent, that moment felt especially meaningful to me. It was a reminder that hard work, preparation, and simply being willing to step out confidently can open incredible doors. More than anything, I am grateful that I was able to fully enjoy the experience, celebrate all the work that led me there, and represent Louisiana to the best of my ability.
To Louisiana — thank you. Thank you for embracing me as one of your own and allowing me the honor of serving this state. This year has been one of the most exciting, rewarding, and life-changing seasons of my life, and I know it is something I will carry with me forever. I truly believe God placed me in this position for a reason, and I am endlessly grateful for every lesson, every opportunity, and every person I encountered along the way.
